Students remember your essence, not your knowledge.
I had the experience of being a Teacher this Summer and in turn, my students taught me.
While standing at the front of the class, drilling grammar rules, I realised that what I said and what I taught would not (always 😄) be remembered. The way I made them feel however, would be.
I was given a position of influence to develop attitudes and to shape perspectives. The opportunity to instill an enduring sense of empowerment and self belief, (besides grammar), was a rewarding experience.
Proverbs 22:6 “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”
